Working With Children Print E-mail
Tuesday, 22 July 2008

Parents who help out with the Scouts occasionally or who are regularly involved in activities or who wish to join youth sections during overnight activities are required to have a Working With Children Card and register with the Group Leader.  This requirement is effective immediately.

As a Group we also require that adults working with us on a regular basis be registered with the Group.

Minor Maintenance Items Print E-mail
Wednesday, 23 July 2008

Here is a list of minor and some non-minor tasks that need doing around the hall.

These are the kind of jobs that do not need a major working bee and that a parent by himself or herself with or with an assistant or two might undertake as a time that is suitable to them.

The group will be very grateful to any parent who can volunteer their skills and labour or who might be able to get materials donated for these projects.

Helping out at Joeys, Cubs or Scouts Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 January 2008

Parents are very welcome to participate in a range of scouting activities with their children. The benefits of parental participation are many and varied.

There are some procedures required by the Scout Association Victorian Branch and the Victorian State Goverment that must be completed before parents (or any people over 18 years) can participate in Scouting activities.

Adults regularly involved in Scouting activites are known as Adult Supporters, Rostered Parents and Badge Examiners

Group Committee Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 January 2008

The Group Committee supports the Group Leader in the administration of the Group.  In particular with respect to finances (revenue and expenditure), property and HR.

We need the support of every parent in order to have strong group.  There is something that every parent can do that will make a big difference to our group.  We have an excellent Group Committee Executive with every officebearer position filled.  All parents need to be involved in Group Committee activities in some way.

Meetings are nominally scheduled for the second Wednesday in each month 7:30pm, at the hall, 213A Weston Street, Brunswick.  Allow 1.5 hours including supper. Please check the online calendar to confirm meetings or call a Committee officebearer.
