On April 11 2008 Alex Slade and Stepanie Zilles advanced from Scouts into Venturers. Ally and Steph are teh frst Venturers at 5th City of Brunswick in many years and ther advancement marks a significant milestone for the development of the Group.

The girls have chosen to join the Monash Venturer Unit based at the 17th Essendon Scout Hall in Aberfeldie.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Scout Troop who farewelled Steph and Ally as they made their way over the Afton Street Bridge on the Maribyrnong River to meet the Unit.  Following the ceremony, a night time activity aroudn teh streets was conducted by the Venturers and Scouts.  On return to the Hall, Ally and Steph were invested as Venturers and everybody enjoyed a healthy supper.

Steph and Ally remain members of 5th City of Brunswick and will jon use from time to time for ceremonies and actvities. Both girls are Australian Scout Medallion holders and are keen to achieve the Queen's Scout Award. We wish them every success.
