![]() Scout uniform The shirt, belt, scarf and woggle are all official uniform items that must be provided specifically for the purpose. At 5th Brunswick, we will supply the first scarf and woggle on investiture. Other item can be purchased from Snowgum. The pants can be long or short. The pants (or skirt) are navy blue. Footwear must be closed-toe shoes or boots in black or brown. If wearing your uniform in the bush, subdued colour, closed-toe outdoor footwear is acceptable. Members are also provided with the necessary badges for their uniform by the group. Practically everything you need for your uniform can be bought from Snowgum. Note that Snowgum is an outdoor gear franchise chain that was originally setup and operated by Scouts Australia. Although the business has been divested, Snowgum retains close links with the Scout movement. Scout members are also eligible to become members of the Snowgum Club for one year for free and receive a 10% discount when shopping at Snowgum and other great benefits. Join up at any Snowgum store. There is also optional scout apparel including peaked cap, bucket hat, brimmed hat, fleece jacket and pants. It you wnat to get items of this nature these items match the uniform in style and colour and are strongly recommended. Apart from looking smart as a scout wherever you go, being correctly uniformed will prevent any embarassment or problems where incorrectly or incompletely uniformed scouts may be refused the opportunity of participation in certain events when full and appropriate uniform is required. ShirtThere are two shirt types; polo and button-up. Sections are designated by shirt colours. Cost of Joey, Cub and Scout shirts is $29.95 for the polo and $39.95 for the button-up.
BeltThe scout belt is woven webbing with a chrome buckle. It costs about $11.95. Optional AccessoriesThere are a number of optional gear accessories that do not form part of the official uniform. However some do carry the official logo (embroidered or otherwise attached) and represent a consistent style that looks great with the official uniform gear. In our opinions the gear is good quality and good value. These accessories include... Hats
Pants
Jackets
All items can be purchased at Snowgum BadgesThe first set of badges (District badge, Asustralian flag, membership badge and group name tape) ae provided free to newly invested members. New badges are available separately ($various) or as a full set ($8) on request. typcially a member would get a new set when moving from section to section in order to keep his/her old shirt intact. For details of badge placement please see these downloadable drawings for different sections. |
